
3D Research at the BCT Hubs Project Meeting!
Thursday, 30 November 20233D Research at the meeting of the project Blue Culture Technology Excellence Hubs in EU Widening Member States (BCT Hubs) project concluded in Sofia on November 7-8.
The Balkan Heritage Foundation and the Center for Underwater Archaeology organized the event, which was inaugurated by Arch. Chavdar Georgiev, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Bulgaria. He delivered an inspiring speech during the opening ceremony.
The BCTHubs Project, a component of the European Commission's Horizon 2020 Program, aims to boost research and innovation capacities in the Blue Economy sector. Its primary emphasis lies in BCT (Blue Culture Technology), underwater cultural heritage, scientific research, and tourism development in Bulgaria, Greece, Malta, and Italy.
The goal of BCTHubs is to create BCT excellence hubs, offering innovative solutions and products for the sustainable protection, restoration, valorization, management, accessibility, and promotion of underwater cultural heritage.
Every BCTHub unites key players from the domains of Blue Culture and underwater cultural heritage, encompassing research, enterprises, the public sector, and societal participants.
The collective endeavor strives to strengthen their capacities and efficiency, ultimately raising the standard of innovative excellence in the sustainable Blue Economy/Culture within their specific regions.
